By Lee Barnett
All in all, for being a cheap bike, it works great.I biked a lot when I was a kid, but when I was in high school I pretty much drove everywhere. I now go to university in a very biking-oriented city, and needed to purchase an adult bike. Since I've put the bike together, it's served me well and I've used it daily for commuting without too many mishaps. The one problem I've had with the bike, which actually may be due more to my shoddy assembly than its actual quality, is that from time to time, certain pieces of the bike come loose. After it happened a few times, I bought a foldable set of allen wrenches to keep in my backpack and when it happens now, I just stop for a second and tighten whatever's loose. It sounds like a bigger problem than it is-- most people check their tires and brakes before they ride anyway; I just have to take a little more time to check for loose bolts. This bike is great for any adult on a budget who needs to commute across town. Its few problems make you learn about bike maintenance, which is useful knowledge to have.

By MYW
Especially great to have the back rack to carry books as my son rides it on campus at Auburn every day to classes. Had problems with assembly. Not all the parts were there. Had to take it in to a professional. Have had persistent problems with the straghtness of the frame as well. Other than that, it arrived on time, and my son uses it daily to get around on his college campus. He loves it. It is doing what we wanted it to do, but we put $100-$150 in it within the first few months with assemply help, a part and repair and alignment.

By GUILLERMO MADURO-VAZQUEZ
Before spending $500+ to figure out what I needed and didn't, I purchased the Savannah (metalling blue; previous release) assembled and tuned by a reputable bike shop, all for under $90. It's a tad tall for a 5' 7" rider but very adjustable. The Revo shifting takes little to get used to, though thumbs suffer a bit after a long ride. The rear-end rack is very usable and sturdy. After riding it for 100+, I know that I'll get a lighter frame, skip the front shock assembly (heavier and disconcerting if you're not used to these), put in a triathlon-like handlebar assembly, go for disk brakes, etc.PROSInexpensive at the time of purchase, but latest prices may make you consider getting a better bike for a bit more.Full of features (18-speed, front-shock assembly, cushioned seat, nicely built).Comfortable and speedy ride (700c, 26") for the road and cruising.Light wheels with thin tire contact patch.CONSHeavy frame, taking the bike to around 44 lbs. (compared to around 20's lbs. for similar higher-end models).Wheels may be mildly warped (my front one was), a complaint I've seen before on these. Unnoticeable except when braking, where it ticks a bit.Decals and stickers are low-quality and tend to peel off.On more spirited runs, the springed seat tends to drop off on the back, resulting in uncomfortable groin pinches. You'll be better off upgrading to a gel or solid seat.
