Nirve Cannibal - Awesome!

Great bike. I got this to cruise the neighborhood in style with my kids. It gets a lot f looks, and all of my neighbors have asked to try it. Even the neighborhood kids have complimented it. It comes mostly assembled, and it pretty easy to put the rest together. All the tools you need are included, but it's easier to use your own socket set or an adjustable wrench and phillips head screw driver of your own. Took maybe 15 - 20 minutes to throw it all together and get it fitted right.It's definitely fun to ride. It's not like any other bike I own, and given its length and the somewhat recumbent position you pedal in, it takes a minute to get used to the first time you ride it, but it's not hard to do by any means. It's obviously not made for hill climbing, but it is super fun to ride downhill.It's fairly heavy, so it's great for slow cruising...Very smooth...kind of like a GS or Super G ski. Remember, this thing is a hardtail chopper, so it's not made to be super cushy, and so it's not easy on you a*s when riding off curbs/sidewalks. I threw a cup holder on mine to hold my beer, coffee cup, or whatever to ride around the neighborhood.Killer looks. Solid. Good quality. Fun cruising. Worth buying!

What a cool bike

I ordered the Nirve Cannibal for a battery powered bike conversion having seen one online . The only problem I have encountered with my conversion was that the Nirve front wheel was setup for the front disk brake on the right and the wheel I am using the disk is on the left . Therefore I cannot use the front brake and at 22 MPH you really need a front brake to stop this Beast . The size of the bike is hard visualize . It is not for kids . I am 5'8" and I had to switch the mount under the seat so that it would be further forward so I could reach the peddles . Having said all this I really like the looks and feel of the Nirve . I thought that with the extended front forks the turning radius would be longer than it is . It actually turns in a shorter radius than my beach cruiser and feels more like a motorcycle at speed . I gave it a 4 star rating because of the brake setup . If you are looking for something that turns heads , is easy to put your feet on the ground and peddles well this is your toy . P.S. the guy that inspired me to build this bike is selling his , the reason he told me is because he found that if you ride on dirt , mud or any slippery surface with the powered front wheel it is hard to control and tends to spinout. But if you are not going to put a motorized wheel in the front buy one I love mine .

I'm 34 years old and not interested in riding bikes for exercise. I bought this bike strictly for saving gas money and not worrying about parking because of the area I live in. I also plan on slapping an 80cc motor on this bad boy. Alright, now for my personal review...the box arrived on a Saturday morning and I was immediately worried when I saw the condition of the box. There were huge holes all over the sides and you could actually see parts of the bike hanging. This pissed me off. Then as I took the bike out of the box I started to see small dents and gouges all over the damn thing. The endcaps on the handle bars were cracked from being laid on it's side even though the box says all over "Do Not Lay On It's Side." If you have any kind of mechanical skills this bike is a piece of cake to assemble. The directions suck because for every part, the booklet has assembly instructions for 3 different bikes on every page. You have to figure out what kind of bike you have in the instructions and then follow steps. Now riding this bike is very smooth. The 3 speeds are perfect for small hill riding. I haven't yet had to stand up and pedal to get me over the top but this bike is a 55 pound beast. Don't even try to ride her off any curbs or speed bumps because you might blow out a disk in your back. The saddle seat is freakin' awesome and has a crap load of padding. No worries about having a sore taint after riding. I'll update this after I hear from the company that shipped me the bike about all the damages. You're not going to find a cheaper price for the Cannibal Chopper then you will on Amazon.***UPDATE***I shipped the bike back to amazon (which was a huge pain) and Amazon shipped me a brand new bike with no discrepancies. This bike is so damn cool and I'm always getting compliments on it. The 3 speeds are just enough to get by and I would highly recommend this bike to anyone. Thanks Amazon for the speedy response and super fast shipping!
