3it's OK .... considering the price
By M. Webb
For the $109 price I didn't expect much ... the components on the bike are the cheapest you can find. My other bikes are from bike shops and are kind of expensive. To compliment the expensive bikes I wanted a cheap bike(so cheap it is almost disposable) to ride the the market and the pub and if it got stolen I wouldn't cry. I could have built a dependable cheap cruiser but since i have two other project bikes in the garage I wanted to purchase one ready to go for cheeep. The Pacific Oceanside fits the bill almost. In college I used to work for a name brand bike MFG as an in store assembler and repair tech and have assembled hundreds upon hundreds of bikes of all types and price points so i have a fairly wide range of experience with all types of bikes. This one has some bright points and some not so good points. Pacific Bikes is part of the same company that now makes Schwinn, Mongoose, Roadmaster and a few other brands, so i figured its quality would be close to the others in many respects. The color is OK for me. The decal on the chain cover is starting to peel off. The one I bought was assembled so I had no real trouble with that. The front wheel needed to be trued a bit but that is standard for any bike. Every bike needs to have its wheels trued out of the box and the re trued after breaking in. The frame is ok along with the paint. The frame is indistinguishable with the Schwinns that were parked next to this bike in the store. The stem and handle bars are ok too. The place where they save the money was in the other components like the rear hub. I will wind up rebuilding the rear coaster brake soon since it is noisy and does not stop really well.It honestly is one of the cheapest rear hubs I have seen in 30 years of futzing with bikes. The spokes look a little dicey especially the nipples and coatings on the spokes.. I do worry about the front hub and bottom bracket now but for 100 or so its about a good as you could expect these days .... once again if it gets stolen I wont cry. If it breaks the frame will become the donor base for a custom project or something. To sum it all up, if you need a reliable dependable everyday bike and this is the only one you own, it will probably let you down. If you want it as a fourth or fifth bike for cheap this one will probably do ... It seems 100$ won't buy much these days when it comes to bikes ... but then again many days a cheap bike is better then no bike.

5Great Bike!
By daddy's mama
This is a great bike! The bike is very well priced & is sturdy. The box arrived in a timely fashion & the contents were in perfect condition. There were no scratches (which I expected a few) & there was nothing missing. I can't wait to give this terrific gift to my son for Christmas! I would definitely purchase from this vendor again!

1its got problems
By James
many cheap components, such as; 1.VERY soft tires even fully inflated they bow severely 2. the rims are aluminum and the FIRST time I took this on a paved bike path and caught a small pothole they warped horribly to where they cant be saved 3. coaster brake barely works 4. seat is mostly plastic and soft metal and even using a ratchet wont stay put 5. pedals are totally plastic and have begun to crack. So not worth the money and now have to do some costly repairs and no way to get a refund of new parts from the manufacturer AWESOME!!!
