4Value for the money, but...
By Artemis
We got this for our 11 year old son for Christmas. Bad news first: I was home when it was delivered and heard the UPS guy slam the package on the concrete porch and up against the front door, standing it on the wrong side of the package. It was clearly marked which side was "up" on the package. The box came to us extremely beat up so I thought the bike would be banged up as well. It was too late to send it back for another before the big day so we kept it. Upon opening the package to put it together on Christmas day, it was a surprise to find the bike to be in good condition. However, after all the heartache of getting it put together, a part to set the handlebars was missing. Probably fell out of the big hole in the side of the box that was torn open before we received it. It took a couple of weeks to get the part from manufacturer. The guy helping me over the phone from the manufacturer was a bit flippant and arrogant when answering, so I wasn't impressed with him specifically, but at least I got the part. Very annoying though. The good news is that the bike is made quite well. It is made with sturdy materials, very solid and can handle a bit of a beating (obviously, since it survived shipping). It looks like a more expensive bike too. It is also a hard-to-find-size for a man's bike in this price range. I was happy with the purchase once we had all the parts. We still need to take it in to get a pro to tune it to perfection, but I was able to get it ride-able until then.

4The all in one stop review for new gear.
By Brian Nallick
I haven't owned a bike since I was a teenager. My last bike was a ten speed Huffy that got stolen out of my parent's garage.I'm only 38 now but with spring right around the corner I really wanted a bike and one that wouldn't break the bank either.I searched high and low online looking for reviews on this model but sadly there were none.I almost didn't even buy it based on the lack of reviews. Then I went looking at local bike shops but all the local shops want at least a grand or two for their bikes so I bit the bullet and bought this one.And...the bike showed up with free shipping...yayyyy!!!The first thing I noticed was how beat up the box was.Not cool but then I unpacked the bike and it was in perfect shape.I'm deducting one star for a few things...first of all the picture does NOT match what I got.It matches by about 99% but the tire rims I got are silver NOT the orange/yellow that is pictured. No biggie but still not accurate. The next thing I noticed was that the bike requires minimal assembly. Not a problem I sat there thinking...until I opened the instruction manual. The company might as well not put anything in there that's how useless the manual is.Let me spare you some agony...since the entire manual seems to encompass every bike the company makes with zero instructions on specific models. You know when you open a manual and there's always a parts list for you to compare so you can make sure you have everything?Nope, not there. The bike seat comes in a separate box with about seven different parts.Once again the manual is useless, just a picture that looks like it was drawn by a four year old.Let's tackle that first.First of all the bike seat is a rail seat which means you can adjust how far or how near the seat is in relation to the handle bars.Put the bolt under the rails, then attach two of the little clips facing out then put two more clips facing in, then put the nuts on over that. You'll see how it works, the clips attach to the rails so the seat slides.Do NOT do what I do and stick the bike seat pole in the bike itself and accidentally let go.It WILL slide into the bike body out of sight and get stuck. After much weeping, crying, and stamping of feet I get the bar back out by turning the bike upside down and slamming on it.Headache number 2...the handle bars. This is a little hard to describe but I'll try...The handle bars attach to the body via a pipe in the bike. The bars are screwed in with a long bolt.No matter how hard I shoved in the bars I could NOT get the thing to screw in.They I noticed at the bottom of the bike where the bar was, there was an opening so I shoved a screwdriver and sure enough it pushed the female part back up the tube and then I could screw it in.Another hour down the tube. Finally you have to attach the front wheel.Sounds easy except the brakes block the tire. You have to remove one of the brake pads in order to get the tire on.At least the pedals were easy to get on.And it also comes with two reflectors that aren't in the picture. The red one I put on the bike seat pole. And the white one on the handle bars right next to the center bar.All in all, with no instructions it was a nightmare and a half.I'm giving four stars based on the fact that the bike is built like a tank and shifts comfortably.I expect years of service and I will update frequently. For those of you who need additional gear keep on reading.I wanted this bike primarily for exercise and I wanted to be able to ride indoors if the weather is bad so I bought one of these and I love it.Magnet Steel Bike Bicycle Indoor Exercise Trainer StandAnd the bike trainer doesn't come with a riser for the front tire and you might need one, I did.Minoura Riser Block TrainerBut I also wanted my bike for outdoors use and I really needed a helmet so I bought this one and I am very happy with it.Fox Men's Rockstar Transition HelmetBut wait...I also want to grocery shop during the summer so bought a rack for the back of my bike.Ventura Universal Bicycle Carrier RackAs well as some pannier bags to hold my groceries.Avenir Excursion Large Panniers (1, 700 Cubic Inches total)And don't forget your bike pump.Topeak Pocket Rocket Master Blaster Bike PumpAND A GOOD LOCK!!!Kryptonite Kryptolok Series 2 Standard Bicycle U-Lock with Transit FlexFrame Bracket (4-inch x 9-inch) with 4-Foot Flex CableAnd last but not least...reflectors are cool but not quite modern.I bought six of these, three for each tire and they're SO AWESOME at night.Nite Ize Spokelit Bicycle LightTo answer the last burning question you're all pondering...did I get the tight, stretchy bike suit?NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!!I'm way too fat....for now.I hope this was helpful for all of you who are jumping back into the biking game. It's finally spring, go have fun...I will be!!!
