Great Foldable Bike

Bike arrived almost fully assembled in a giant cardboard box, only needed to screw on one pedal and add the bungee cord. Packing/padding material was minimal, and there was a hole in the middle of the box, but the bike survived.According to large words written on the cover of the box, you need to take the bike to a professional to get it serviced/checked in order to activate the warranty.It rides like a big bike, surprisingly comfortable to ride, fully adjustable to fit almost any rider. You don't have to pump any harder than a normal sized bike, the gearing does that. The low step over the bike is great, very easy to get on and off.The internal hub is awesome. Shifting is effortless, no need to pump and shift gears, you can shift with the bike at a complete stop!The bike is made in China. The fit and finish as well as quality are all good. It even comes with some touch up paint.It easily folds in half, takes only a few seconds to fold up... just wish it were a little smaller, I can't find a standard hard sided suitcase that it will fit in for Air travel that meets airline requirements without being charged for an oversized item.My one major disappointment is that despite what the description says here on the Amazon website, the bike did NOT include the Dahon PostPump: a high capacity bicycle pump integrated into the seatpost. I was really looking forward to that, but I got a regular seatpost instead. Dahon website also states it comes with that pump.One BIG issue is you will not be able to get any warranty service on this bike from Dahon if you purchase from Amazon.com. I tried to register for the warranty at the Dahon website and Dahon needs a 6 digit code that the dealer is supposed to have given you in order to register. I contacted Amazon and they don't have any code for you to enter. Essentially you'll have to roll the dice and hope the 30 warranty from Amazon is enough for the bike. Pretty bummed about that.

Dahon Caio D5 Review

I just received my Dahon Caio D5, love it, but it also did not come with the Dahon Post Pump, which the Dahon site states it should have. I was disappointed in that.I ordered off Amazon, and did get the fenders, the rack and the dealer it came from told me how to find the 6 digit code to register your bike. It is on the bike itself and more than 6 digits. There should be an authentication circle on your frame. It was difficult to read but I was able to register my bike and it is fully warranted. In order to warranty the bike you do have to take it to an authorized dealer, which I did. The bicycle was together so there was not much for them to do other than check it over thoroughly and make sure the gears and parts move properly. All was in great order and they told me how well it was made and that I would enjoy it very much.The ease of use and quality are amazing. Even though I just received it, and have barely used it, it is obvious I am going to fully enjoy this more than any bicycle I've ever had. It is easy to get on and off and love that part. It is also easy to fold up and pack up into my car which will be great going down to the beach to ride. Great bicycle overall.

Front handle bar column almost impossible to raise and lower.

Likely this item wasn't tested before it left the factory and a burr of some sort stuck in the handle bar column making it almost impossible to adjust. Once in the proper position it is a great bike to own. The short wheel base makes it less stable than a larger bike but this is will be a concern on all short wheel base bikes.I do enjoy riding the bike.
