By drahcir830_review
I was shopping around for a folding bike since I drive a sports compact car -- Mounting a rack was completely out of the question. One of my criterias was to get a 26" folder, not a 20" or a 16"... those just look awkward. After numerous days of searching and following tens of hundred of links to various "review" sites, everthing pointed back to this Columba 26" folding bike.At first I couldn't decide if I wanted the RJ26 model (with suspension), or this SP26 model (without suspension). I went to a local bike shop and hopped onto a few MT bikes with suspension and i disliked it alot. It sank, and ate up pedal power because the bike slightly bounces with each step. Since my goal was to bike casually around the city, I quickly settled on a SILVER SP26S.When I purchased this, it was priced at $185... which was a STEAL. I was hesistant thinking why would this bike be so "inexpensive". Along the same line of thinking, I thought this bike would be of terrible quality. However, desperate for a 26" folding bike, I purchased this SP26S thinking "if the bike was total crap, it's ONLY $185... not a big loss".I received my bike approximately 2-3 weeks ago, and the package came as described. The installation "paper" is a bit light on directions, so you'll have to stare at the parts a bit. It took me about 30 mins to put the bike together, but I took it to a local bike shop to get it professionally tuned. Surprisingly the tuning cost me ZERO!With the bike fully assembled, and I have spent under $200 in total, I took it on a test ride around town. I'll tell you... this bike is built like a champ. It's solid. It does not feel like a folder. There are no weird noises. Everything feels solid. I am very surprised!!!To date, I have ridden this bike about 7-8 days, one to two hours per day. I have folded this bike about 5 times and easily stuffed it into my trunk. So far, the bike still feels new like the first day it was tuned up.PRO:- One of best looking 26" folding bike- Amazing quality, feels extremely sturdy- 26" tires- Takes about 10-15 seconds to completely fold away, once you know what to do- Easily fits in a BMW, Honda, and Mercedes trunk- Solid gear shifting... ZERO problems, no weird clicking noises.- Cheaply priced at $185 - $220... I would personally pay a couple hundred more for this bike. I bought this for $185. I would pay up to $400. I noticed 2KSilver started raising the prices on this bike. It's gone up from $185 to about $220 already in a short amount of time. If you are considering purchase, I would purchase earlier rather than later. It seems they have figured out how cheaply the bike is priced, and they are now raising the price.CON:- It's approximately 35 lbs. I get a sweaty workout biking around town (if I bike hard). This bike is too heavy for my girl to carry. However, even many "thousand dollar mt bikes" weigh in at 27-30 lbs.- The tacky "COLUMBA" paint on the frame... in my opinion, they could've toned it down a bit.- Installation instructions are sparse... I suggest taking the bike to a professional, unless you are knowledgableFINAL:- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.- Don't be surprised by the price tag. It really is a steal. I was skeptical at first, but it's a great purchase.- Don't be put off by the "lack of suspension" either. The bike is on the heavier side... I suspect a suspension bike will rob precious pedal power. After all, this bike without suspension already gives a heafty workout while riding around.

By J. Thomas
I bought this so I could get around faster on my campus. Since I'm also a commuter and full-time worker, I didn't want to have to mess with a bike rack so a folding bike seems like the best choice. I ended up going with this bike because1 - it's cheap (please note that the -----price varies on the bike color-----. Black was the cheapest at the time of my purchase)2 - it's light3 - it fit inside my car4 - had the larger tires so let peddling for meSo I bought it for myself, back in March of 2012 (it's now Oct)I love the bike BUT there are some draw backs1-I have a ford focus. In order to fit the bike in my car I have to take the handle bars off each time - it gets tedious2-the paint doesn't hold up well to wear and tear - I ended up having to lay it on its side at one point, scrapped the paint to crap3-the bell it comes with died on my first wipe out =[ sad day4-for those of us who are used to normal size bikes, riding it takes some getting used to. you can't turn and peddle at the same time, as your foot will hit the tire (how I did my first wipe-out)5-it shifts around more then I'd like in my trunk6-for on road only, has virtually no shock system to speak ofThe good:1-very sturdy! I'm a big girl - around 170lbs (and loosing =]) this bike holds me and my book bag (~10lbs) no problem2-well built - I've had a tune up and the bike store said it was one of the better folding bikes and I've wiped it out one it twice - the chain fell off one time but it was easily slipped back on and ready to go3-does what it's suppose to-folding it easy and it's very compact4-gears and breaks work great5-adding things to it is not problem -just the same as a normal bike6-seat is adjustable/replaceable7-can adjust height of handle bars tooIt's a great bike! I added a backpack rack to the back and haven't regretted the purchase. It works perfect for on campus and paved trails. I've added a water bottle holder to the handle bars (makes it easier to fold for me versus the one that comes with it) and bought a new bell. It works great, and I don't regret the purchase. At one point I'll repaint it or upgrade to a better, more expensive folding bike for I get more into it.
