I bought this bicycle for use as a "single passenger golfcart" to get around campus. After about 6 months of use and a couple of hundred miles it has worked out fine. The motor assist kicks in when starting from a dead stop, or the wind kicks up against the direction you are riding. I suspect it would help on hills too, but this is Florida and we do not have hills. In the middle of the summer I can ride around campus while wearing a suit and tie without breaking a sweat at all. The top speed motor assisted is about 14 - 15 mph. The battery life and recharge speed have not been an issue for me riding it for 1 - 2 mile trips throughout the day.Compared to my traditional bicycle, changing tires is harder with the motor on the front and the in-hub gear and connections on the rear. Also, the tubes must have the longer airstem due to the wheel design. The "pull" of the motor on the front wheel does take a little getting used to at first. There is an occasional vibration out of the motor, but a quick touch to the brakes seems to clear this up. It is a bit of a tank to pedal without the electric assist.All in all, I would buy one again and feel it is a good value for what I paid.

For some time I've wanted to get back on a bicycle but I live in the hills in Irvine CA and the challenge is getting back up the hill. This fabulous device is the ticket. It flattens the hills enabling me to enjoy the trails and neighborhoods around where I live - with ease. It's got a great feel and the pedal assist drive just can't be beat. You keep your legs pumping but one doesn't have to be a true athlete to enjoy the pleasures of cycling. A lot of parts for the money, e-Moto deserves a lot of credit for making this product available. I wish I'd owned one for years.

Columba Folding Bike

I bought this bike so I would be able to ride it on the boardwalk as well as bring it on trips. I am thrilled with it. I wanted a bike with the 26" wheels and came across this on Amazon. I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered it. The bike came securely packaged and required very little assembly. Within minutes my bike was ready to ride. Added air to the tires and off I went. It's amazingly easy to fold and pop in a car or trunk. I bought the red colored bike and it's gorgeous. The seller shipped it quickly and bike was just as described. If you are thinking about purchasing a folding bike, don't hesitate to get this one. Another selling feature is the 18 Shimano gears. Can't say enough about this bike! Wish I had bought it sooner!

NIce bike but there were few issues

We got two of those bikes (red and silver) after reading all the positive reviews. Buying experience from 2KSIVER was good though there was several days delay - looked like they were out of stock (though the web site listed them in stock with 5 left). But they answered all emails promptly and did their best to get bikes delivered in time for our vacation.The bikes came securely packed and almost fully assembled, the red one had a small frame damage but that was not critical. No tools needed - unfold the frame and pedals, turn the seat, install the handlebar, inflate tires and you are ready to go. They do the trick - both easily fit in the back of our Subaru Outback with rear seatbacks down and that was what we needed the folding bikes for. First impression was good, bikes seem well build and ride is relatively comfortable thanks to double suspension. Few negative comments after the first ride:- Rear derailer in one bike needed adjustment, had to un-tight the cable screw and readjust cable length otherwise the gear number on the hand bar did not correspond with the number of the sprocket.- In both bikes real derailer guards were bent and prevented switching to gears 5 and 6. Had to manually straighten them. That and the previous problem with derailer would be impossible task for a lot of people with no mechanical skills - means visit to a repair shop.- Front derailer does not have gear number indication.- Despite of the alloy frame and rims they are relatively heavy - 34 lb.- They do not support riders heavier than 200 lb - come on, who they are for, just teens and girls?? should be good for 250 lb at least.- Both I and my wife found the narrow seats very uncomfortable. Ended up with spending $60 more for two wide soft seats (and Columba does make the wider seats part # 20A for the same price as the original part # 26A ones!). Besides, being 6'2" I had to order a longer 12" seat post separately. It should be possible to select seat post length and seat style while ordering the bikes!Other than that - nice bikes for the money, overall quality and durability seem to be good.

Great bike

I had been searching around for quality full size folding bikes, and this bike is the best I could find for a reasonable price. I wanted a folding bike I could stick in the trunk of my car without needing to fold the rear seats, remove the front bike tire and carefully navigate the bike into the trunk like a standard bike. I also wanted a full size bike instead of the more common goofy looking ones with the small wheels. So this bike fit what I needed perfectly.The bike arrived faster then expected, I ordered it on a Saturday (Christmas eve) and it arrived the next Friday. Overall the bike is really well built, the joint that allows the bike to fold is very solid, the bike is definitely worth the money. The bike was also easy to assemble, I only had to attach the pedals, front tire, and the quick release seat and handle bar and it was ready to go.The only issue I had was that the bell that came with the bike was busted up during shipping, but after contacting 2ksilver and getting a quick response, they promptly sent a replacement bell for free.

JUNK...dont buy

Like they say, "you get what you pay for". This bike is JUNK and NOT to be rode by an adult. I took the bike to 1 bike shop and they said I would need to spend another $120 to replace the tires and rims so I could ride it (I am 6'2"/ 255lbs). The rim and tires busted by me sitting on it after I put it together and before I got to ride it (which turned out to be safe for me). Another bike shop said it was such a piece of junk (after laughing at me for buying it) they would not work on it or touch it in any way because it was cheaper then a "cheap" Wal-Mart bike (and they work on cheap Wal-Mart bikes). Now I have a bike that might not break as much when I get the new tires and rims and I cant mail it back for the full refund because I live in Maryland and to ship it back to Cali will cost $220, so the full refund does me no good and the seller said there was nothing they could do for me. If you want a folding bike YOU HAVE TO SPEND THE MONEY, lesson learned.

typical low end chinese bike

I rode this bike as my commuter bike for about 3-4 years until the frame broke around where the folding part is. There are issues with this bike, but it is a good looking bike and full suspension is why I got it. I've had to replace the cheap bear trap pedals (almost all cheap bikes contain these), as they eventually broke. The seat has trouble staying up and keep on touching the rear coil. The seat also sometimes had a hard time of staying level as you really had to tighten the nuts holding the seat together. The rear plastic fender eventually broke off as I kept on hitting with my leg as I tried mounting it (it is a large bike)... I'd say you want to be a minimum of 5"5' or possibly 5"4' to ride this bike and also have your feet touch the ground on both sides.Heavy bike too. The gears kept on switching during initial peddling because of the grip shifters (had to replace one of them with rapid fire shimano shifter). The rear cassette gear eventually broke because of the bike's weight and my riding up hill a lot. The rear kick stand eventually kept on falling down during riding because the spring mechanism just got weak or bent (and good like finding a kick stand that fits this bike that is also reliable - I had to do a custom job).Replaced the tires with armadillo kevlars which stopped the flat tires (which happened once every two months after the first 6 months of riding). The handle bars were also a little wide for sidewalk use, so I replaced them with a handlebar that I cut the ends off of to make shorter. The alignment of this bike sucks so that the wheels kept on hitting the brake pads a little.The bike was also missing a piece when I got it which made the bike more or less unusable (the part that keeps the handlebars in place) until I got a replacement.Although this sounds bad, I really did enjoy this bike, and it was a usable bike about on part with most cheap bikes you get at the department store. For the most part though, I'm going to stay away from folding bikes as a main commuter bike and only have 1 folding bike that I have now that has 20" wheels that I use as a back up bike, and also a bike to use to make short trips downtown.The only folding bike that I may get as a commuter bike, or at least I was thinking of was something called a changebike because of its strong frame. Almost every other folding bike that I've looked into has issues for durability for hard use.Don't let that shy you away from this bike or folding bikes though. Most people buy a bike and ride it only maybe a dozen times. And if you're the type of person that is only going to ride it like that, then this bike should be fine for you. Or if you are willing to put up with upgrades/maintenance.Many expensive bikes get stolen or also break. But you can get a better quality bike than this. Just be sure and do some research and some common sense. Not every bad point of a bike is written in a review and you have to really think about a design and what it would do in practice if you were to ride it.

I bought two of these about 5 years ago, they are not top of the line bikes, but they ARE NOT as bad as the 1st review. I am 250+lbs and have not had the wheels fall apart, though the gear changing can be problematic I have even gone so far as to attach on of these to the bike(works well) [...]
