3You Get What You Pay For
By Sean G. Daly
As the "3 star" rater said, the bike seems to come damaged in the mail. One of my wheel rims is bent, the bike shop tried to "true" it, but it creates a little wobble when riding. Unfortunately a new wheel is 40-60 dollars. The BAD:The actual bike is made and china, and thus has some cheap parts. I've had the bike for about a month, and have foreseen numerous repairs that will eventually have to be made. The bike also has a cheap gearshift, and even after it being adjusted by bike professionals it still jumps somewhat. The folding quality is poor in that it will take you a good 10 minutes to fold it up. You also need to buy some bungee cords to hold it together after it folded. This bike is extremely heavy for a folding bike. At least 40 pounds. Not buy if you will have to carry the bike for long distances. The paint chips very easily.THE GOOD:Brakes (once adjusted) work extremely well. I guess the better make sure you aren't going to die on it.It rides very smoothly when the gear shifter is working right. Very maneuverable. The heavy frame is a detriment in carrying it, but comes in handy having a tough frame for a general solid ride. You don't really feel like you are riding a toy bike. It also protects from bends when transporting. It even has a derailer guard to protect it from getting bumped. The seat it comes with is of extremely good quality as well as the handlebars. It comes with a carrying bag, cheap but should last a little while at least.Conclusion...I paid 215.00 including shipping (well 230, since a tune up cost $15 which all bikes not sold from a bike shop need), which i feel was a far price considering this is a cheap beginners folding bike. However, I would unlikely buy it again.I would rather pay the $440 for a dahon that is lighter and faster to fold. Dahon also offers a 16 inch wheel bike that is even more versatile as well as offering full size bikes that can be folded, some of which are tough mountain bikes.Schwinn is nothing to scoff at, and that is why I passed up all other folding bikes on amazon. None of them (maybe minus one name brand) were worth even taking a second look at.I would really like to give the bike four stars, but I can't solely because of the heavy weight, time consuming folding, and cheap derailleur. I can't give it a 2 because the bike is still worth the money rides nicely in general.I would not, and have not taken the bike on a bus due to its heavy weight and bulky size even when folded. However it is effective on the BART or any bullet train situation because of more space.I have written such a long review because i have had a month to test ride this thing and I feel it is my duty to inform consumers of my experience. If you can spare the extra change get a dahon, but if you are tight on cash then go ahead and get this, but be aware that you do not have a folding bike. YOU HAVE A BIKE THAT FOLDS.

I just received it from Amazon last week, set it up immediately, and only took it to the bike store to make sure of everything. It does NOT ride like a toy, as one customer said, but is far more steady than any Dahon I've ridden. It's a bit too heavy for me to lift up, but others may not find that a problem. Once you get the catch open - it's difficult because a lot of pressure is needed, but that's for safety reasons - it folds easily. For a man, this would be easier. An absolute pleasure to have the LOOP AT THE BOTTOM, AND NOT TO HAVE TO PUT MY LEG OVER A HIGHER BAR. The handle bar is fixed and can't be adjusted, but it's fine for me. The seat is adjustable, though. Goes up hills easily. This is far superior to the citizen bikes, in my opinion, with their rickety chain that falls off easily. It is rather larger than appears in the pictures, so look at the specifications carefully. I was surprised that Schwinn put it into such a shabby carton for the trip from China and then to other places before it came to me. All I did was rip the side of the carton open, and the bike slid out (folded, of course.)

5what a ride!
By peaseblossom
What a fun little bike this is! It folds well, they were very thoughtful about the placement of everything when folded. It's very sturdy.I compared it to the Dahon, and while that is very slick and expensive this serves the purpose just as well.It does ride like a toy bike but with 20" wheels thats about what you expect. My range on it is about 10 miles round trip. That's about as far as i'm willing to go. More than that and you'd want a big bike. But it is perfect for city shopping and upstairs apartment living. I would buy it again.Oh, you do want to take it to the bike shop for a tune up and adjustments beofre you ride it, though. I hear that's normal for all online bikes. The bike shops tune and adjust for you if you buy from them. Add that to the cost when thinking about prices.

2Not any better than a $90 WalMart bike
By B. Weaver
I was quite disappointed in the quality of the bike. unfortunately there weren't any reviews on line, other than one from a 14 year old who loved it. The aluminum frame is a nice feature, but leaves it with a heavy front end so it's hard to wheelie or jump. And more unfortunately, i bought from a seller who is a slime ball, and as soon as i asked dor a refund he put me on hold, then said he'd call right back...that was days ago....and that was just what the on-line reviews said about the dealer. I should have listened. Save yourself $200 and go to WalMart5. Your kid will be more happy, and so will you!

4Vilano Forza 54cm
By SMoore61
Received my bike in timely fashion and packaged nicely. No instructions but as always it's a good idea to have your LBS do the tune up and give it the once over. My LBS noticed a loose spoke which I would not have caught and did a much better job than I could at brake and cable adjustments and settings. $60 is worth it. My brother is a big time recreational cyclist with $2500 to $5000 bikes and while this bike of course is heavier with less expensive components this is a more than adequate for fairly significant weekly mileage and for guys like me who need a less expensive bike for riding or tri sprint events. You will love the integrated shifters. The baskets and pedals aren't great and neither is the seat but those are things you would want to customize anyway. It's also not black, it's more of the darkest purple you can imagine. Great bike for the money and fits my 5-10 210 soon to be 199 pound frame nicely. You won't find a better bike for under $500.00.

4Good starter
By walastika
Just started cycling about two months ago and decided to start with this bike mainly for the features and cost. The brake-shifters work flawlessly as well as everything else on the bike. Assembly was straightforward, instructions were clear. However, if you have no experience with adjusting the derailleur (even with the instructions), it could take some trial and error. I still don't have mine perfectly set up and so I've decided to just bring it in at a local bike store and let the pros handle it. I have about 130 miles on it so far and it's still running (tires aren't showing any signs of wear so far). The only thing I've upgraded are the pedals (replaced with shimano clipless SPD-SL).

5Nice for the $$$
By Mark D.
Bought this bike 3 months ago and for the money it is a great (although Chinese) bike. Easy to put together, shifting was aligned well, and it is fun to ride. You can spend four thousand and try to be Lance, or buy this and go just as well.

sixthreezero Men's Mammoth Single Speed Beach Cruiser Bicycle, Orange, 26-Inch

Product Description

The second coming of the original Mammoth, the Mammoth Man orange single speed beach cruiser features the same 26-inch wheel/18-inch extended frame, but the overall bike details are a little more expanded and then some. We went orange on this one, folks. Really orange. It pops and it's hot. It comes with matching front and rear fenders and also a custom sixthreezero orange mammoth-embossed gray saddle with matching grips. Forward pedaling combined with an ideal crankset configuration give you the smoothest and easiest ride you could ask for. This is an ideal bike for taller guys, but with a couple of minor adjustments to the seat post and handlebars, it'll work just as well for those of us who are a little more vertically challenged. No matter your height though, chances are you will have a nice, comfortable ride in a relaxed and open seating position. The thicker top tube, fenders and offsetting cool gray rims with white spokes really accent the glossy orange frame nicely. Another sweet touch is the unique white chain. One of the coolest looking and most comfortable single speed cruiser bikes around.

5Solid Bike
By GnomeTalmbout
I love my bike. I've had it for over two years now and it's been a quality bike. I have my son's child's seat (also neon green) on the front and it works great for family bike rides. I'm a big guy (6'2", 245) and the bike is very comfortable and handles my weight with ease. Assembly was easy and straightforward.

5Best beach cruiser I have owned
By G8RED
I purchased a Men's mammoth single speed beach cruiser bike just over two years ago. It is the original grey with green accent color model. I am a bigger guy and I have to say that this is one of the most comfortable bikes I have ever ridden. I use it 2-3 times per week to get in a one hour bike workout. Some things that seem to stand out:* Longer middle frame is so much more comfortable to sit and rid.* Overall design also makes you feel the most comfortable while riding* Bike seems very solid and has last over two years - runs/looks like new* Bike seat is custom and comfortable.* Chain has never fallen off* Tires stay pumped up at least a month and most times it seems like 2-3 months between refills (all of my other family members bike seem to require inflating the tires a lot more). The only thing to note is that this bike is made for flat surface riding. I used to tend to go up and over curbs and also sometimes bypass the road a bit and the spokes would come off over time. I have gotten the back tire's spokes fixed twice but since the last time I have tried to stay on the flat surface as much as possible.......and if I do jump a curb or go into grass I do it slower and cautiously. With that simple ride adjustment I have had all the spokes stay put since the last repair. The bottom line is I have only purchased one bike from Six Three Zero but if all there bikes are made like the one I own then I would not only recommend their bikes 1000% but think there bikes are cool to own. I have had three people ask me where I got the bike from and all said how cool it looks.

5Great Bike for Tall riders!
By Wally B
I've owned this beach cruiser for over 2 years and it is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. The stretched frame and forward pedaling make a big difference compared to other cruisers out there. I'm 6'2 and this bike actually "fits"! And along with all of that its very easy on the eyes. Most bikes around the beach are a dime a dozen and everyone rides the same one, but not this bike. Buy this bike, you won't be disappointed!

5Best bike for the price
By crknight2305
I bought this bike a few weeks ago for $225 shipped to my front door (from another website). The price I paid for it and the amount of high quality hardware is amazing. I have already ridden this bike many times on dry, wet, damp, and muddy trails of all types of difficulties. I have also ridden on roads a little as well. The bike holds up very well on all obstacles. The tires could be a little more aggressive for the type of riding I do, but offer a good compromise for road driving with a continuous center rib. I am 5'11" and I have no complaints about the size. Overall the bike seems well built.Pros:1. Disc brakes (front and rear) work great even when wet.2. Full Suspension (adjustable rear)3. Flawless shifting (Shimano)4. 24 speed5. Pre-drilled holes for water bottle cage (no cage included)6. Easy to assemble7. Looks good8. Semi-aggressive tire9. Light weight (38.5 lbs)Cons: (these don't matter to me, but will help you in buying a bike)1. No instructions2. Front suspension not adjustable (but stiff enough to not lose a lot of power)3. Packaging (bike came undamaged but the damage to the box made me nervous when it arrived)4. Handle bar caps broke (still fit but crooked, and easily and cheaply replaced)5. Reflectors on pedals broke off (due to my hard riding)6. Says Jeep all over it7. Seat is a little too stiff (most bikes have this problem)8. Semi-aggressive tire9. Handle bar grips a little hard. Most of these can be fixed with simple and cheap upgrades, but are just fine how they are. I am just being hyper critical for your benifit.Since there were not instructions included I thought I would put together a quick guideTools needed:4mm and 5mm allen wrenches. Adjustable wrench, flat and phillips screwdrivers1. Take bike out and cut all zip ties. Be careful removing the front wheel as the pedal is in between the spokes.2. Remove the 2 bolts (5mm) where the handle bar goes and turn it 180 degrees. You might notice paint white chipping off, mine was not noticeable. But be careful not to go any more than you need just in case. Quick check: brake hub is on the left if riding the bike and the handle bar shaft is over where the wheel would be and not over the frame.3. Remove the 4 4mm bolts to where the handle bar itself will go. Put the handle bar in your place of choice and tighten the bolts back down. NOTE! Always tighten these bolts in a star pattern and tightening little by little until snug. When handle bar is in place go ahead and make sure all bolts are snug including the center bolt on top.4. Go ahead and install the front wheel.5. Attach the brake line. Look at how the other side in attached and copy.6. Put the pedals on. They are labeled with L and R. L is left side as if you are riding etc. Use your wrench to tighten.7. Install seat and adjust to your height.8. Attach the front reflector with screwdriverThis bike is very easy to adjust. Both brakes lined up perfectly, but both derailleurs needed adjustment, and now shift flawlessly. If you don't know how, do a quick internet search on adjusting derailleurs and many videos will come up. You can do the same with the brakes if they grind a little.

5Great Value - Great Bike
By Oregon Gil
Bike is a great value for $249. It has an excellent gear shift system, great brakes, comfortable dual suspension, decent saddle and very nice appearance. It needs much better instructions on how to center the front disk brake and stem/handle bars. The Jeep Cherokee Sport provides a very good ride on pavement and moderate trails. I have not taken it out on rugged trails because I do not have the necessary stamina and not because I do not trust the bike. Shipment box had one hole in it resulting in a small scratch but otherwise the bike shipped quite well through FedEX. I gave my much more expensive road racer bike to my son because of the harsher ride and bent over rider position which at my age was now uncomfortable. I enjoy riding this bike much more than the racer even though it is a little heavier at 38.5 lbs. I would highly recommend this bike but believe maufacturer needs to supplement assembly instructions on how to center and adjust the disc brakes.

4Pros and Cons.
By Atol
Let start off on the Good side. The bike rides Great. I live in the California mountains and I wanted something that can be use on mountain trails. Most bikes where going around $250 with front disk brake. This one had both disk brakes for the same price. Plus full suspension which was a plus. With 24 Gears it easy to climb Mountain trails. The Cons. Like the others said. The manual sucks. The week before I payed for the bike I got my nephew a new 20" BMX mongose bike. Nothing to do with mountain bike. I tried useing the Jeep Cherokee manual but it But the Mongose manual was more detailed then the Jeep Cherokee Manual. It had clear instructions for adjustments.Would I buy this bike again. Yes.

Nice Bike!! A;I am 50yrs old and have had many bikes.I love to ride, but I am not some spandex wearing hard core. I have shopped around(alot)and just got this bike today.5/31/11. Assembly was easy but you are going to need some tools.Mostly allen wrenches.(metric)You are going to want to tweak it for your needs anyways. It is way cooler looking than the photo. The top and lower bars are angular metal and look tough. It is a nice ride!Glides down the road.I am 5'9" and it is a nice fit.I could see anyone from 5'5"to 6'5" being able to tweak this to their needs.I had never seen this bike except for this one photo online.I took a leap of faith and bought it.I would do it again tomorrow. It looks more like a 4-$500 bike.My neighbor who rides $1200 Cannondale was quite impressed. This is not a trail bike! But a road bike that will handle any dirt road or 2 track.Great deal for the money! And VERY cool looking!

1Very cheap construction, be careful
By Fakir S Nooruddin
I bought this bike because it had good reviews, and was in my price range. I wanted to start commuting to work on a bike, but didn't want to spend $$$ on a bike that would end up in storage if I didn't take to riding to work. In any case, the bike arrived, and was pretty easy to assemble. When I had it put together, I showed it to a friend of mine who rides a lot to have him look it over before I got on the road. He found that the fork was put on backwards -- it came like this from the factory, and being a newbie as far as bikes are concerned, I had no idea that the fork was on backwards. In any case, we got the bike fixed, and I started riding it to work. The bike felt great -- the ride was smooth and comfortable. The gears and brakes worked well. Fast forward 10 days -- I was riding to work in morning, and the post that attaches the front brake to the frame just fell off. I was lucky to be standing at a traffic light when it happened, otherwise the brake pads would have gone into the spokes on the front wheel, and would have resulted in a bad crash. The post is held to the frame with one weld, which failed. I returned the bike to Amazon, and got a prompt refund.I think I got a lemon because I can't imagine that even a cheap bike like this one could be put together so badly. If you do end up buying this bike, check to make sure that all the welds are solid, before you get on the road. Overall, the bike is good looking, rides well etc., but do a through check before you starting riding it seriously.

1Shoddy and dangerous
By J. Jaeger
DO NOT BUY THIS BIKE, OR ANY JEEP BIKE!I rode this bicycle for two months before returning it. The first problem I encountered was a clicking pedal. Kent Bicycles promptly mailed me two new pedals, which I installed. Curious, I took apart the clicking pedal. The manufacturer left out some ball bearings. It was a bad omen. When I put this bike away, I often lifted the front wheel. While turning freely, the front wheel made odd noises too, inconsistent with ball bearing operation. After getting a flat from a thorn, I took the back tire off and patched it. While I was at it, I removed the front wheel and tried to disassemble the axle and bearings. The nut securing the racer was so tight I couldn't remove it, but ruined a thin bearing wrench. The other bearing race was 13 mm, while this one was 13.5 mm. One side had 9 ball bearings, the other had ten. It gets much worse. After putting everything back together, the noise persisted. It was necessary to tear the axle apart and clean all the grease and dirt thoroughly to see that the wrong race had been used. Bearings were running on the edge of one race instead of their proper channel. The bearing race was already damaged and ultimately would have failed and perhaps locked up the front wheel. Imagine that happening on a steep downhill at speed with potentially fatal consequences.Such shoddy manufacturing is inexcusable in my opinion.

4Mongoose Otero Comp
By FSUKXAZ
I bought the Mongoose Otero Comp about 3 years ago. I bought it to replace another Mongoose mountain bike I had which was also good. This bike is better and offers a dual suspension. I've really liked owning the bike. I've had a few tuneups and one gear replacement from wear. I've added a water bottle holder, lights, and storage pack for under the seat. I would recommend this bike for anyone looking for a mountain bike that is better than what they sell in the stores. They make 3 versions of the Otero. This one was in the $600 range. Do your research. Below are some important specs for this particular bike:The frame of the Otero Comp is made of heat-treated aluminum, which means it is stronger than common aluminum frames. The Otero Comp's has a replaceable derailleur hanger. So because of the aluminum construction, which means the rear derailleur can be completely replaced if damaged because it is not welded to the frame. This is an important difference from lower-quality bikes because if the derailleur hanger is permanently attached to an aluminum framed bike, then the entire frame is ruined when the hanger is bent. The most noteworthy element to the Otero Comp's suspension design is the unique quick-release adjustable travel system it incorporates. The Otero Comp allows riders to make suspension travel-limit settings adjustments on the fly without the need for tools. In addition to the rear-suspension adjustment, the front fork can be locked-out to give the bike more rigid handling for softer terrain situations that require firmer front wheel control. The components in the drivetrain and crankset are good quality SRAM parts. Shimano's cassette has been included to offer a gear ratio that is best suited from cross-country and downhill riding. The inclusion of disk brakes further illustrates the fact that this bike is designed to go fast on the trails, which requires a stronger stopping power than the typical V-brakes offer.

4FIRST FULL SHOCK MOUNTAIN BIKE
By Dante
Hello FolksAs a 56 year old man I finally bought my first full suspension Mountain Bike. It arrived double boxed without any holes or damage to the packaging. I removed the bike and found that it was very easy to put together. Im hoping to get a lot of use out of this bike for fun mostly, but also for the exercize. It is a Beautiful looking bike, hopefully it will perform as well as it looks. I know that this is just an entry level bike , but I didn't want to spend alot of money for something that may turn out to be harder than I thought. I know some of you are probably laughing at that last statement. But like I said , just looking to have some fun with it.RegardsDante MLong Beach, Calif.

1Bike arrived damaged
By Martha
The bike was shipped directly from amazon and it arrived damaged. It looked like someone had opened the box. Everything was in the box and it didn't look like it had been assembled by anyone else but the swingarm had multiple marks that went all the way through the primer to the aluminum. Do yourself a favor and make sure that you can examine the bike in person first before you purchase this bike.
